The Local Government Service Commission advertises its procurement opportunities and publishes contract awards in line with the Public Procurement Act 2007 and Jigawa State procurement rules.
Our approach
The Local Government Service Commission conducts procurement in line with the Public Procurement Act 2007 and Jigawa State procurement regulations. Contracts are awarded on the basis of value for money, open competition and equal treatment of all bidders.
Where opportunities are advertised
- In national newspapers and the Federal Tenders Journal, as required.
- On the notice boards at the Commission's head office and at Local Government offices.
- On this page, for opportunities the Commission chooses to advertise electronically.
What a bid must contain
Requirements differ by procurement, but typically include: evidence of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission; a current tax clearance certificate; evidence of compliance with the Pension Reform Act and the Industrial Training Fund; a sworn affidavit; and the technical and financial documents specified in the invitation to bid. The Invitation to Tender for each procurement states the full requirements and must be followed exactly.
How bids are evaluated
Bids are opened publicly in the presence of bidders who wish to attend. An evaluation committee assesses responsiveness, technical capacity and price in accordance with the criteria published in the tender documents. The Commission is not bound to accept the lowest or any bid.
Integrity
The Commission does not tolerate inducements of any kind in its procurement. Any attempt to influence the outcome improperly should be reported to the Commission, or to the relevant anti-corruption authority.
Current opportunities
There are no procurement notices open at present. When the Commission advertises an opportunity, it will be listed on this page and in the News section. You may also check the Resource Centre for tender documents and results.
